Pop Talk invites you to an engaging workshop exploring the intersection of entertainment and mental health.
At Pop Talk, we believe everyone deserves a happy and fulfilling life, with mental and emotional well-being as key parts of health.
Our workshop explores how pop culture can support mental health, using music from artists like Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo and shows like Euphoria and Emily in Paris to connect with emotions and personal growth.
Through discussions and activities, we’ll dive into how movies, music, and series can offer more than entertainment—they can be tools for healing and self-discovery.
Join us to explore the impact of pop culture on mental health in a fun and supportive space.
Although "pop culture therapy" isn’t an official therapy approach recognized by major psychology organizations, many therapists are increasingly using pop culture in sessions to connect with clients and create relatable discussions.
This method aligns with client-centered therapy, which focuses on engaging clients through their own interests. Some therapists even specialize in media psychology, studying how media influences thoughts and emotions, or use tools like bibliotherapy (books) and cinematherapy (films) for therapeutic purposes.
While not formally recognized, the use of pop culture is valued by many professionals for its potential to enhance therapy.
